Through the Looking Glass: Hatter’s POV by Kimberly Selzer

Fandom: Alice 2009

Rating: t (slight language at the end)

She whispered, ‘Never forget me,’ as she went through the looking glass. I read the words on her lips before she turned and was pushed through. ‘As if the coast could forget the ocean or the lung could forget the breath or the earth could forget the sun.’ I would never forget Alice. Though we fought like cats and dogs, she was my light in the darkness.

Without a thought I jumped after her. And never was I so glad I had. She must have landed wrong, for she was unconscious on the ground. After taking her to the hospital, knowing next to nothing about how her world worked, I met her mother, Carol. A quick story about being a construction worker who found her passed moms inspection.

I could not exactly stay without raising suspicion. I spoke to Carol about how worried I was and said she would keep in touch about Alice’s condition. It was a few days later, having spent the time worried in Jacks apartment, that I was able to see Alice again. I wasn’t sure how she would react, however I was pleasantly surprised. I never would have thought stoic Alice would jump into my arms, but she planted her lips right on mine. I’d been dreaming of kissing her since she showed up wet in my Tea Shoppe. We heard a gasp beside us. I looked out of the corner of my eye to see Carol looking at us, her hand over her chest. The small smile on her lips told me all I needed to know. So, I turned my attention back to what was most important, kissing the hell out of Alice.
