Happy Valentines day everyone!!!!

Today is the last chapter of the first part of Light Up the Path.   There will be more, but it hasn’t been written, but it is playing around in my head and I have teased little parts of it as my muse lets the ideas out of her clenches.  She is bring stingy kinda… but at the same time, she is letting me finish stuff.  Thank God!

So.. Tonight the polls close on the Writing Contest.  After that, well, wait until Monday for results, unless I am taking a break tomorrow.  We are planning to do some DIY home stuff.  Seems Murphy is destructive, and took a crack in the wood flooring of our hallway, and made it go all the way through to the outside.   To be fair, we don’t know if he made the hole in the underside of the house.  So we, hubby and I, will be attempting some fixing.  For those that are confused, I live in Houston, TX.  I live in a home that was built pretty soon after the 1912 storm, (In fact, it says it was built in 1912, but I am not sure of that.)  So this house is raised up in the air, and site on what looks like cinder blocks.  Big ones, but they look basically like cinder blocks.  This is nice, since we never worry about flooding, which happens a lot around here.  We have the worst sort of mud, more like clay.  I hate the stuff.  The previous owners had made the house triple the original size, but it is neat to tear down a wall in the original, and find where the windows used to be and so forth.  The biggest part will be trying to make the fix match the floor that is the ORGINAL flooring from when it was built.  You can even see when the kitchen sink leaked and stained the floors in what was used to be the kitchen and is now the dining room.

I love houses with character!

We are also planning to make a cabinet make more sense than what the people built.  Seriously.  A pantry with no shelving?!?!?!  And I am sick of the plastic ‘temp’ shelving that has been there since we moved in 10 years ago. But now that we partly own the home, yeah, well, it will have some changes happening.  Right now repairs mostly.  And next year, the bathroom.  (Thank god!)

So I will be all sweaty and stuff, but we have a major cold front coming in, and would like the floor not to have a hole in it.  Stinking Puppy.  Connor never did this type of stuff!  He just destroyed all the paper he could find.   And backpacks.. and … well you get the idea.

As for Murphy, he is a hoot!! I published in the group him hopping through the house.  He is very healthy, and we are looking forward to the fence with the doggie door soon for them.  It may take a couple weeks, since we have to seal the front of the house so they can’t get out, but hey.. there is an end coming!

For the publishing front, I got it down to these now: Tin Man (which I redid the banner, and have started the process!), Revelations will be next, with the expected overhaul of the FanFiction version since it is the last one that has the oh so bad sex in it!  (sighs).  Then we will have Dying to start and Clocks as big ones, then Best, ITE and Edge.  Yes.  I am reaching the end.  Not as fast as I thought, but Real Life keeps rearing it’s ugly head.

Now, it may look like there is a lot coming, but truthfully, While I am done with my end, we don’t have betas that can do all the work.  Real Life happens to all of us, and my betas are no exception.  I have one sick Beta who keeps trying to work and apologize.  No need!!!   Get healthy first!!! The readers can wait!!! We also have no time to be mentoring.  And I suck at knowing what is wrong.  Seriously.  I don’t do the beta thing.  If I did, it would be so bad that you would cry.   But, if there are any betas who want to look over my stuff, well there are plenty of stories wanting betas.  Lord of the Rings, Charmed, Original Fiction basically.. you name it, I need it.  Except True Blood/SVM.  Most of my betas come from that fandom and are reaching out to help me with others.  So, there is no needing betas for those, since the betas often fight for those stories.

So some of those stories will be waiting.  And some are waiting for betas to be better, since I don’t like them working on stuff when they are sick.  And I am soon going to be working on my novel, so while you will see posts, they are to let you know I am writing, and alive.  But soon… soon will be ITE chapters going to beta, and Edge.  From there, it will be basically what I want to work on.
