As for me, I didn’t get much done in writing, I did get one chapter done for HP, but I will try this weekend. I am starting on Clocks, which will be interesting. I also have demands of my betas and prereaders for more Sacred. Seems I made a monster there!

Also, a heads up. Next week, everyone is off. I have family coming in to visit. So I am going to busy, and as always, if I am off, then all my betas are too. If I get a chance, I will drop a line to let you guys know I am still alive.

In addition, I live in the Houston area. Specifically, between Houston and Galveston. There is a Tropical whatever coming in. It is to be named Bill. Enough said? But basically I am in for alot of rain. Even if it hits where they think it will, lower on the coastline, we are on what is called the dirty side. Lots and lots of rain. Last night it was forcasted 10′ Now they are saying:

Let me tell you.. I am in one of those cities. And you guys heard me when I posted last time we are flooding, we just got rid of most of the water yesterday. I am so glad to be in a raised beam house, in the best drainage district in all of Galveston County. The other side of the road was the dividing line, and they had water everywhere.
If I am late tomorrow with posting the results, you know why. It will be interesting to say the least. It is NOT a hurricane. It is only a storm, but dropping alot of water on a city area already soaked. For some reason, my wishing isn’t moving this crap to CA. They need it. We don’t. Though.. If the rain wants to push all the State Birds called Mosquitoes away, I would be thrilled.
Time to go read some kick ass stories that were submitted for last month’s contest!!!!
I will admit, as I read them, I was all afire with the banners. The only bad thing, I couldn’t find the pics I imagined for Where it Began. But I did what I could with it and am pretty sure I did a pretty good job. The most complicated is Witch of the Woods. That cabin being added was many layers…. But I finally Got it to look like it belonged there. Eric’s eyes in A Brush with Death are amazing. I went through a couple of colors until I got one that looked awesome.
Just remember, I normally use my characters on the banners since I have tons of pictures for them. However, I used Anna because so many of you think of her as Sookie. Unless I have a banner where Elisha is better, I will try to use Sookie for you guys. Other than that. Nope. AS it is, because of In The End do I have so many pics of Anna.

I have no idea how the voting is set up. See…I am trying to get back into writing. I wrote 674 on my novel yesterday and that is abysmal for me! So I fell back on Sacred to get me writing, and while it took 4 hours, I did finally manage to get close to 2k words. This is not normal for me when I am writing. So I am going to get back into writing. I picked Sacred because the muse is still preening under 4Padfoot and Royal Ember’s comments.
I’m telling you. She reminds me each day more and more of a cat.
Many huge thanks to those ladies who stepped up to take a weight off my shoulders: Lizaannek, MissAliceUnsub and tj6james6. They have volunteered to help me with the database so I can concentrate on what I do best, write. Truly, a weight off my shoulders. If anyone else wishes to be included, well I do bribe with chapters that are not published as a thank you…
Now back to what I was saying, I wrote last night, and sent the chapters to Royal Ember and 4Padfoot. 4Padfoot is refusing to talk to me, going through Rissa to tell me the contest poll was ready. So… to get back into the good graces of my web admin and friend, I am off to write.
Which reminds me, please give a huge welcome to my newest team member, Royal Ember. She is my pre-reader. I never had someone who only pre-reads my fanfiction, but the benefits of being able to bounce ideas, to rage at someone and so forth as I write, is helping me out. Though she has pouted and done everything she can to change my mind on this fic on a couple points…

Yep, new Challenge for this month. And as I hinted, (And the Kittyinaz’s Group on Facebook actually watched as the banner came together) this one is not the normal prompt.
Here is the banner:
We are doing Fairy Tales. At least I am putting it all under that heading. I know it is all Disney ones on the banner, but Annie Leibovitz’s Disney pictures series inspired me with the pic of Cinderella. I have been wanting to do this challenge since I saw the pic, but I kept putting it off. The response I received from the Angels Through the Fire series, made me think that I can offer this one up to you guys.
So what is the idea behind this? It can either be a fairy tale, or it can be based on one, or it could reference it. Yep. Wide open. My thoughts were True Blood cast in the Little Red Riding Hood. or have the Originals in the Beauty and the Beast. Vampire Diaries cast as Snow White. And just pretty any much story using Once Upon a Time qualifies as long as you don’t make it Real Life. I don’t care if you pull a Maleficent story out of this, making the bad guy understood or even good. It’s the idea I want to use. And you are open to any fandom I write in, or will be writing in. (For instance Charmed is ok, since it is written and in the beta’s hands)
To help you out, I did a search on Fairy Tales and found Wikipedia’s list. Now, this doesn’t include American Versions, but I do count them. I grew up with Johnny Appleseed, so you can use it as much as Goldilocks. If you have any questions, please ask Rissa (Charissa Horton in the group.)

Just a reminder, this is open to ANYONE. It is completely Anonymous. Rissa is the one who receives the emails, she strips out anything that would tell me who is what, and forwards on the entries to me. I read them, make the banners and so forth, putting them in WordPress. 4Padfoot then goes in and makes the Poll, that she only can access. When the contest is finished, Rissa sends me the names of the authors. 4Padfoot sends me the results, and I am the one who puts who is who, and whom places.
No one knows who is what until the end, and even then, it is only me after the polls close. We do this to allow everyone an equal chance to enter the contest. Your stories will be judged by the readers as is, with no idea who wrote what. We have had brand new authors win over authors that are favorites. And I am proud to say, there are ladies who have entered and since then, gone on to start writing. You guys are the reason why I do this.

And we have had a doozy of a month! (I thought the gif appropriate considering where I and many of the ladies I know will be watching tomorrow.)
I finished and published some new stories. You guys are now in the possession of the only chapters of Edge I had, and you started the Sun Holds the Moon. There are new chapters for Tin Man, and there are two more stories off to the beta, Game of Life and Dying to Start.
I started on the database. I currently have 496 stories in there. They are from Inuyasha, Alice, Alice in Wonderland, Once Upon a Time. AS well as the one I needed for the YWBAs, SVM/TB. And one lonely Twilight since one of my SVM/TB authors wrote it, and I put it in while I had it up. Last night I finished inputting all the Fanfiction stories from my favorites into the database. Thanks to some awesome authors who sent me their stories, we stand at 342 stories in my database. Yes. 342 stories, and I only got up through the e’s on the blogs. I am about to go tripping through the blogs I love next week to start inputting them.
As I mentioned before, if an author would like to be included or help out, from any fandom, contact me, and I will send you the spreadsheet. Otherwise, this is a lot of work, and since I am done with the easy one, (fanfiction) I have to go to each site, and go to your last chapter and see the date. That way if the story is complete, I can put the date in there. The date will come in handy for contests. For now, the crossovers and the YWBA’s will be the ones hit, but a lot of people seem to like to see how long ago something has been completed, or how long a current WIP has not been updated before they read. I don’t blame them, I like to know that too.
So if an author wishes to help, I will post all the stories you send me that you wrote. As a thank you. a huge thank you!! And for those of you in the SVM/TB world, I am noting who I have reviewed and not, so I can add that to the site. And to help me decide who needs to be reviewed next. Remember this is the same information that can be found on Fanfiction searching for a new story. In fact less, since I won’t do reviews and all that jazz.
I also did start a new fic, that I write on my times off. 4Padfoot was awesome and made a video prologue for it. Go check it out. It is freaking awesome. I am up to Chapter 7, and when I reach 10, I will be ready to edit and send off what I have to the beta. 10 seems a good number to let the muse flow and let me get the idea of what is going on…
Then there is this coming month.
The Non-Canon Awards will have some new authors soon. We have one more story for Mavrosal, and then I need to write a bunch of reviews for stories. I did find some one shots I didn’t read somehow on some of these stites, so I will be off to add them to the site. As well as the two big stories I have read (and reading) for me to review.
The Crossover site will be taking off once I am done with all these entries into the database. No sense in repeating myself, when I will be copying and placing these into the site from the same source. I also want to let the stories that I reviewed have a badge of some type. Maybe to have a little picture of the story? We will see. But with my interest being wrapped up in finishing this database, you better plan on me using it as much as possible to base some stuff out of!
Then there is the Writing Challenge for this month. The pic above will take you to the page with the rules and a better view of the pic. I had posted this as a share on my personal wall, and some of the ladies who are friends of mine commented that I need to use it for the writing contest. They were telling me all the ideas they got off it, so, I better see some stories! I can see many ideas myself.. Like a Supernatural (which cause I write Cross the Line and it has Supernatural it is allowed, see how this works?), The Vampire Diaries, the Originals, TB/SVM and so many more. So have fun with the ideas.
I am planning to be done with the database this month (Hopefully by the end of the week next week, but it all depends on how long it takes for the individual sites), so I will be working on the last of the edits then I will be working on the original fiction. For those of you who were Beta Readers, contact Rissa. You guys will see the posts for the readers to know when I am posting. These are raw works. No editing. Me writing, then posting for them to see. Once I am done, I will be hopefully continuing on to the next book. I will then go back and edit the books after the ladies get their comments in. Then comes the worse part for me, to send it out to my betas and get their input on what needs to be changed. After everyone agrees, that I have no spelling mistakes and so forth, I will start the process of trying to get someone to pick it up.
During this time, after the raw part is done, I will be back to finish the stories In The End and Edge. I want to also start on the other works but those two I will finish up. So you will get parts of other stories while I work on those ones.
I also want to work on Fanfiction Affliction to get my stories over there. If you haven’t visited it, I strongly encourage you! There is freedom of posting, and it’s always good to have alternatives. For those who were in Crossover haven, I will be sending out a post soon to you ladies.
Now will all this be done next month? No.
The You Want Blood Awards will be starting tomorrow, and once the nominations are in, we will be working to verify they fall inside the rules, as well as getting everything else ready. It really is more work that you guys will ever imagine. Shoot it was more than we thought it would be when we started! But it is so awesome to feel when we list the nominations and from there the feelings are even better. People are excited and so forth.
So that is my game plans. Hopefully it will all work out. I honestly can’t wait until I am done with the database stuff so I can move on to the part that I love, and you guys love. I have Dying to finish editing, Clocks,best and Some Sacred Place in Time to edit before I am back writing. So close…..

You may be surprised to find out but – I LOVE COMIC BOOKS! *gasp!* It’s shocking, I know, and I’m sure it’s caught everyone off guard. But it’s true. I learned to read on comic books; I read them to this day. I love the partnership between art and words and the way so many make them flow seamlessly together to tell really kick ass stories.
Currently, pop-culture is going through what I like to think of as the Age of Comics. It is now cool to like comics. You see them everywhere – cartoons, TV shows, movies… EVERYWHERE and to a comic book nerd like me, it’s heaven. Sadly though, one place I don’t see them as much is in fanfiction. There are authors that write them, of course, but it’s a fandom I would love to see grow and expand. Comic universes are so rich – so ripe for writing – that I decided to hold a fun contest to hopefully inspire new authors to attempt writing in these fun, untapped worlds. Contest Rules:
1. One entry per person
2. Entry must be within the SVM/TB fandom and contain at least one character from the show/book who is a primary character in your story. (Crossovers are permitted)
3. Entry must be a historical fiction in nature, a period piece which takes place in the past. (Example: Ancient Rome, Early America, Roaring 20s, European Renaissance, Medieval, etc.) Time travel from the present is permitted.
4. Entrants must remain anonymous until voting is concluded and are not permitted to tell anyone which entry is theirs.
5. All entries must be received by midnight central time on April 30th in word doc format.
6. Email your entry to americanandroidfic@gmail.com and include your pen name, rating, and title.
7. If you enter you are welcome to put the contest banner on your website and link it back to this page.

There will be a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winner. The winners will receive a custom banner for their story and an award graphic to put on their website. Winners will be announced about a week after voting ends. Voting will be conducted via a daily wordpress poll.
